    Film Review: "Interstellar" (2014)

A complex project to start with, which had been around for years in Hollywood's development machinery, going through hands of the top 10 directors, before writing brothers Christopher and Jonathan Nolan reinvented the content to an accelerating science-fiction thriller that came up director Christopher Nolan's sleeves, being the perfect match for metaphysics analyzing research, preaching utmost of accuracy in the production's execution that the imagery partially in full-resolution 1.43:1 IMAX aspect ratio film prints uncovers an hypnotic feel of an accomplished director's career, who found his signature in razor-sharp designed cinematography with the support of first-collaborating director of photography Hoyte Van Hoytema.

The down-to-earth environment of the opening scenes, introducing the character of Cooper, portrayed in laissez-faire, not too much out of reservation, Texican manner actor Matthew McConaughey, caring for family members all around, including daughter, son and father Donald, match-making portrayed by actor John Lithgow. The father-daughter relationship becomes the center of the story, when Cooper gets recruited on a secret mission into space defying an appearing wormhole that might bring balance to all-dried-up, duststorm prevailing humanity on planet Earth. Directing reappearing casting members as Anne Hathaway as scientist Brand and Michael Caine as her father Professor Brand cannot hide the fact that Christopher Nolan keeps his distance in engaging as to speak motivating his cast into extreme life threatening situations.

As in the director's previous pictures, there is always a final note, a undeniable, absolute beat of full commitment missing in each and every character to make it the ultimate emotional journey despite universal Zeitgeist marketing endeavors. Nevertheless Nolan's technical knowledge in cinema and superior detail preparations pay off, especially in the cold realms of space, which feels to be the scenario, which had been the most comfortable one for a director, who had been provided with every production value Hollywood had to offer.

(NB I'm watching the movie on TV from a DVD, with computer type speakers, not a home entertainment sound system)

Another movie, where actors (mostly male) mumble and whisper, making the dialogue hard to follow. It's like they have lowered their voices too, and are speaking in a way that isn't "normal".

If I turn up the volume, I'll eventually get an explosion of loud sound effects. So not conducive to watching at night, when others are sleeping.

As a consequence of having difficulty understanding what the actors are saying (especially Matthew McConaughey), I found the movie dull and boring. And I'd probably add that it's too long.

This has been the best space movie I have EVER seen. The biggest complaint I get from people is that they "don't get it" after watching it once. Well, I says, watch it again! The music is amazing. I am in a master's program for film in music (at the moment) and I feel like this is the most popular movie students like to write a paper on right now, meaning it is all the rave. I have amazing (sorry for the lack in modesty) focus and understanding of movie story lines and plots so I was able to watch this the first time & I was like OMG OMG OMG this movie is AMAZING!!! The plot and writing is PURE GENIUS. It will blow your mind. It's almost like I feel as though I am in a higher awareness or consciousness after watching this movie. OK, need to calm down but seriously fantastic movie. So far, definitely my favorite space movie of all time.

This is one of those films that you HAVE to see in theaters. The soundtracks really made it feel like you were inside the film, being one of the characters and really caring for the events that take place in the film.

The acting was solid as well, I've always been a fan of Matthew Mcconaughey and the chemistry with the other cast members felt real to me.

If you ever get the chance to watch this in theaters, do so! - You will not be disappointed.
